Power to Change

by Marty Copeland | Featured, Spirit/Soul | 3 Comments »

One of the most important things I learned when I began my journey out of bondage to food and being overweight was that the power to change was in knowing God in the area of health and fitness.  As I spent time time with God in reading the Word, thinking about what I read and how it applied to my life, then spending time in prayer, my mind was renewed.  I began to see things from a new perspective and was changed in my heart.  I knew that God’s love for me was real and powerful to help me.  Learning to submit to God and then also resist the enemy was key in my transformation.

I encourage you to ask God to reveal how He sees you and loves you, and then how to love yourself – each day.  Your relationship with Him, and getting to know Him and His ways, is so important in making a lasting change in your life. We need to know Him if we are to recognize and cast down those negative thoughts that come against the knowledge of God in our lives. Agreeing with God’s good thoughts towards us – it releases that power and ability to change.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV)
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

  1. Thank you.

  2. This made me want to cry. It’s hard loving myself, but I know what you says is true. Please pray for me as I try and see myself differently. Thank you.

  3. This is very helpful to me. Trying to lose weight in my own strength isn’t working at all. This encourages me a lot.
