Timing is everything. For example, if you consistently overeat at five p.m., then your mid-afternoon snack is vital in warding off overeating when you get home from work or school. Having a snack and a bottle of water on your way home in the afternoon will really help you avoid the temptation to overeat at dinner.
Remember that by eating 5 times a day (every 3-4 hours) you are keeping your metabolism revved-up, and this will also help you burn more fat.
